Statistics say that 40-50% of all marriages end in divorce. This is supposed to be true in the world AND in the church. Why? I’ll give you a hint. It’s not the fault of the Women’s Liberation Movement, Hollywood or even “the Spirit of Jezebel.” It’s not because of “the Great Falling Away.” The blame lies much closer to home fellas. Put on your big boy pants … this is gonna hurt. Are you man enough to take it?
Because of the Deuteronomy 13 test, those with opened eyes are trying to discern between “true” and “false” prophets by the signature words “Come and let us serve other gods,” only to be shut down because nobody who claims to be a prophet – not even the worst offender – would say something so heinous.
But is that really the criteria Deuteronomy 13 is telling us to use? Or is there more to the story? … Let’s do a deep dive into this important passage!
“I am saved by grace through faith” seems to be the “go to” verse in any discussion involving the subjects of grace and salvation, but are these subjects really understood? Do we realize the depth of what this means, or are we just parroting what we’ve been told by the pulpit masters?
In the days ahead, our ability to speak the right words will do nothing to disguise the loyalties of our heart. The question is “Who do you serve?”
