Same Prophecy Different Year

Ah, the beginning of the year! (OK, we’re a few days into it.) Time for the prophets to tell you what to expect for the coming year! But wait a minute . . . didn’t I read this prophecy before?

Breakthrough . . . open heavens . . . new realms of glory . . . new impartations . . . victory . . . plunder the enemy’s camp . . . Oh! Stay rooted and grounded in love!

This prophecy sounds great to a believer until you realize that last year, the same group of prophets was prophesying the exact same thing.

But why didn’t it the prophecy happen? Where was YOUR victory? Where was YOUR breakthrough?

Let’s just be honest. It didn’t happen.

If it had, we would be turning the world upside down right now! But that’s not happening either . . . not yet, anyway.

It’s really a common mistake (or tactic) among many “prophetic people.” They put the cart before the horse and tell how much Jesus wants to be your buddy and wants to spoil you rotten without first requiring a key component:

Repentance.

Salvation is ALWAYS preceded by repentance . . . always.

Read the Word . . . the first thing out of the prophets’ mouths was “REPENT!” not “Experience new realms of Glory!” All prophets should know this, but somehow it is conveniently overlooked.

All of prophets in the bible – Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, John, etc. – knew that God wanted to pull Israel close to Him and hide them under His wings, but they would not have it!

They loved their idols too much.

It’s the same concept, with Creation groaning and laboring for the Sons and Daughters of God to be revealed. In order for us to take on the nature of the New Man, we need to forsake the Old Man. That means ditching the old idols, greed and friendship with the world.

Unfortunately, the church is a long way off from a Bride who is willing to make herself ready.

What breakthrough are you going to have this year?

How about we break some idols and come to God in brokenness and repent because we’ve broken covenant with Him? That’s when Heaven opens.

Discerning the Soft Core False Prophet

I. Discerning the Soft Core False Prophet

Because false prophets like Bill Johnson, Graham Cooke, Rick Joyner and Kris Vallotton seem to be spiritual and have a knowledge of the Word of God, seekers of truth have a very hard time seeing them as wolves. I frequently receive emails from people asking me what I think about these guys and others like them. This series is my answer to those questions.

Meekness and Guarding the Way of the Lord

Meekness and Guarding the Way of the Lord

What does it mean to be “meek?” The meaning of this word has been lost in our Western culture. Being “meek as a mouse” has been the idea that has been planted in our heads, so we think of being meek as a little tiny creature that is unthreatening and quiet. I’m not so sure the Word of God agrees.

When Charisma Magazine Hides Behind “the Religious Spirit” to Despise True Prophecy

False prophets and teachers at Charisma magazine and other mainstream christian publications are pulling out all the stops to ensure that the framework behind the propaganda they push stays in tact, even if it means resorting to manipulation and outright deceit. And they have YOU in their sights. Watch out, believers! The sheep clothes are coming off…

  1. Thanks Kevin, for posting truth… always encouraged by your teachings.. so much needed in the days we are living.. watchman on the wall in Europe…

  2. Welcome back from your break. Your message could be taken as hilarious due to the same o same o from the ‘prophetics,’ or so very sad due to the same o same o from the ‘prophetics’. I guess it depends on perspectives and mood.

  3. May Yehovah give you more truth to share in 2018 as we strive to be obedient to His commands! We appreciate you, Kevin!

  4. This is fabulous truth. This is what I preach first and foremost. Most people are preaching the wonderful grace of God and love of God and how fabulous it all is and He’s all we need, He’s our marvelous Savior. But the other shoe never drops. That’s His job but we have a job too. Repentance and Surrender. The Bible is so clear about our responsibilities. Hebrews has a lot of IFs. It isn’t all one sided and that’s not popular because its truth without the love of which we can’t be saved. I agree!

    1. What I just said about Jesus being preached is true. It’s just not being the whole counsel of God who requires much of us, like everything, like total surrender.
