This kind of perverse scenario is not unique to Paul Cain.

This deception is not unique

Now, let’s go back to my original claim that “Lies, error and sexual immorality seem to follow Paul Cain and the Kansas City prophets like the plague.”

Bob Jones

The late prophet Bob Jones, another “father” in the prophetic movement and Paul Cain’s fellow Kansas City prophet, confessed to sexual misconduct [1] and even taught that YHWH loves you so much that He actually accepts your sin! [2]

According to Holly Pivec of

This misconduct included encouraging the women to undress in his office “so they could stand ‘naked before the Lord’ in order to receive a ‘word.'” [3]

Jill Austin

The late Jill Austin, who often shared the spotlight with the Kansas City prophets, moved to Los Angeles and helped to shepherd Gateway City Center Church, a fledgling ministry on Santa Monica Boulevard, aka “the Boulevard of Broken Dreams.”

When I was working for the Elijah List, Jill invited me personally to come down to meet the pastor, James Stalnaker, and his ministry team. She thought that I could come and “partake of the anointing.”

When I met James and his crew, I couldn’t help but notice that they were some of the most feminine males that I had ever met. I did my best to ignore the obvious signs, but dang, sometimes you just gotta call it like it is.

I didn’t, however, because I was browbeaten into submission with the idea that God Almighty had placed this person in a position of authority and I would not be “walking in love” if I said anything.

Well, 2 weeks after I returned home from my visit, James Stalnaker (who was “anointed” by Che’ Ahn) was publicly called out as an abusive homosexual. His wife left him and there was even a lawsuit.

According to a Pasadena Star news article (February 14, 2005):

The lawsuit claims A.W. (the victim) engaged in unwanted sexual contact, including oral sex and fondling, with Stalnaker from September until December. Stalnaker is accused in the complaint of using “mind-control and brain-washing techniques” to perform sex acts with at least 10 other young men at the church. [4]

Apparently, Jill Austin, who was said to have an amazing prophetic gift, could not see this happening right under her nose.

Mike Bickle

Bridal Paradigm

Perhaps a little less tangible, but just as noteworthy is the false “bridal paradigm” taught by Mike Bickle, the leader of the International House of Prayer (IHOP).

Those who adhere to the “bridal” paradigm are encouraged to take on the role of “the Bride of Christ” and pursue “intimacy” with the Holy Spirit. Now, that may seem harmless, in and of itself, but it has taken some very strange twists and turns over the years.

In my own experience, I’ve seen men dance around with bridal veils over their faces and have even listened as a woman inferred that she was brought to . . . um, “climax” . . . in her encounters with “the Spirit of God.”

And if these kinds of perversions are not enough, there is the murder . . . oh, excuse me, “suicide” . . . of Bethany Deaton to consider.

In 2013-14, Bethany and her husband, Tyler Deaton, along with Micah Moore were embroiled in a sordid tale of sexual assault, “suicide” and religious zeal . . . and they were all connected to Mike Bickle and IHOP. [5]

Bethany Deaton’s death was officially ruled a “suicide,” but that decision came after a year of investigating it as a murder. There seemed to be many questionable events that, I feel, were either overlooked or ignored, including a confession that was later retracted.

Check out the Rolling Stone article referenced below for further details. [5]

Particularly offensive and, in my view, condemning, are the words spoken by Tyler (Bethany’s husband) at the memorial.

There was a weird feeling that something was wrong, that something was just off, and it all goes back to the fact that Tyler wasn’t moved at all,” one (observer) says.

“As some of you know already, I am a man who is in love with ideas, with crazy paradigms!” he said when he stood to speak, and laughed. “And when they brought me Bethany’s body, at first I cried. But then I laughed, because I said to her, ‘Bethany, if you could see you, you would not like the way you look right now!'”

“And last night, we had worship time together, very briefly, as a group, and it was wonderful and it just showed me the Lord’s supremacy over this wretched thing that is death,” he said. “And I thought to myself, ‘What a crazy paradigm!'” [5]

These words are very uncharacteristic of a grieving husband.

Interestingly enough, Rick Joyner’s name pops up in this scandal, as well.

The work that most enduringly shaped Deaton’s thinking might have been The Final Quest, an account of the End Times by NAR leader Rick Joyner, whose celestial travels and pretensions to divinity resemble those of Bickle. Joyner claims to have written The Final Quest in a “trance” state, akin to that of the Apostle John. Joyner describes his book as “a call to all who will go on to the most noble adventure of the age” – the final showdown between good and evil. The Final Quest is ludicrous self-hagiography that casts Joyner as a hero of Armageddon, “one of the saints fighting the last battle.”

“Something in Tyler made him particularly volatile when exposed to those teachings,” one group member says. Less than three weeks after he read The Final Quest, Deaton told his worship group that he had been divinely ordered to “train God’s final army.” Deaton had arrogated to himself, in Joyner’s conception, prodigious supernatural power, highest-level divine revelation and the authority to call down God’s judgment upon those who opposed him. The history of the group would play out against a backdrop of Final Quest imagery.

Years later, when Herrington (friend of Tyler Deaton) tried to reread The Final Quest, he started shaking, ran to the bathroom and puked. He doesn’t think it’s possible to underestimate the influence of the book or of NAR’s latter-day apostles on Deaton. “In some ways, Tyler was as much a victim as anyone else,” Herrington says. “These apostles destroyed him. I think they drove him mad.”

Alert Warning

Now, to be fair, my experiences and the Bethany Deaton incident were probably the exception, rather than the norm, but the fact that these “exceptions” even exist should raise a red flag.

The Psalmist David – a “man after God’s own heart” – wrote:

Psalm 12:6-8
The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. You shall keep them, O LORD, You shall preserve them from this generation forever.

The wicked prowl on every side, when vileness is exalted among the sons of men.

Where vileness is exalted among men, there will be wickedness.

Chad Taylor, Jeremy Lopez, Scott Hicks

Speaking of vile, I was invited once to speak at a conference in Georgia with Chad Taylor, Jeremy Lopez and Scott Hicks.

After the conference, Scott Hicks stated “If two men love each other and want to get married, I have no problem with that,” and Jeremy Lopez nodded his head in agreement.

“Revivalist” Chad Taylor said nothing.

So what, Kevin? These are just words! They weren’t actually doing anything.

You’re right.

But this is the kind of tacit acquiescence that our modern day prophets will give to this kind of perversion. If they are not active participants, they will say nothing publicly and they certainly won’t confront a “father” as famous as Paul Cain.

To them, there is just too much to lose.

Let’s go back to Mike Bickle and IHOP for just a little while longer.

Similarities between IHOP Philosophy and the Occult

While the real prophet would relay the Word of YHWH that encourages His people to “stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls,” (Jeremiah 6:16b) Mike Bickle and the other Kansas City/IHOP associated prophets claim that the “bridal paradigm” is a “new revelation” that the Spirit of God is releasing to the Body.

Predictably, because the majority of Christendom will equate anything supernatural that tickles the emotions with God’s favor, they swallow this lie whole.

The truth is, these “new revelations” have a dark and sinister connection to the occult.

As an alleged “channel” for Tibetan Master Djwhal Khul, famous occultist, Alice A. Bailey penned the following.

alice-baileyChristianity will not be superseded. It will be transcended, its work of preparation being triumphantly accomplished, and Christ will again give us the next revelation of divinity . . . Can there not be revelations of God utterly unprecedented, and for which we have no words or adequate means of expression? The ancient mysteries, so shortly to be restored, must be re-interpreted in the light of Christianity, and readapted to meet modern need . . .[6]

As if to echo this demonic being’s sentiments, Bob Jones said in an interview with Mike Bickle:

“They themselves will be that generation that’s raised up to death itself underneath their feet . . . a Church that has reached the full maturity of the god-man! This generation of young people that are coming are going to see the beginning of the worldwide new order . . . It is going to change the expression of Christianity in a generation.[7][8][9]

Mike Bickle states:

“The Lord said simply, ‘I will change the understanding and expression of Christianity in the earth in one generation.‘” [10]

And, of course, Rick Joyner echoes:

“What is about to come upon the earth is not just a revival or another awakening; it is a veritable revolution. This vision was given in order to begin awakening those who are destined to radically change the course and even the very definition of Christianity.” [11]

Isn’t it amazing how the voice of “God” and the voice of another spirit sound alike when you listen to the thoughts of your own heart?

Jeremiah 13:10
This evil people, who refuse to hear My words, who follow the dictates of their hearts, and walk after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be just like this sash which is profitable for nothing.

This is the kind of evil philosophy that has permeated the Christian psyche. These are the men and women that have been given authority in the church.

The Difference Between Forgiveness and Stupidity

Forgiveness and stupidity

Many of you may ask, “When does forgiveness enter the picture? Isn’t the late Paul Cain and aren’t the prophets who are still alive deserving of our forgiveness? I mean, they are only human. We can’t expect them to be perfect!”

Let me ask you this.

If you found out that a man in your church who was in children’s ministry and, as a result, had frequent contact with YOUR CHILD was stealthily getting YOUR CHILD alone and sexually molesting them. Would you forgive him?

What if, after being confronted with this crime against your innocent child, he confessed to it, turned himself in and served a prison sentence. Would you forgive him?

What if the sentence was a fitting sentence and he served that sentence. Would you forgive him and let bygones be bygones?

No matter how hard it may seem, there are verses in the Bible that actually require us to do so.

But let me take this a little further.

  • Would this man ever be fit to enter back into children’s ministry?
  • Would you ever trust this man to be alone with your child again?
  • Is there a “restoration process” good enough that you would gamble your child’s life with this “ex”-pervert?

Look, I’m not inferring that forgiveness is out of the question. What I’m saying is, it is the height of stupidity and ignorance to place an “ex-pervert” back into a situation where there is the potential for the innocent to ever be harmed again.

I don’t care how “gifted” a person is, there’s absolutely no excuse for it.

And, if you as a “loving parent” would be willing to place your child back into a circumstance where there is even a sliver of a chance that they would be sexually molested, then I greatly question your love for your child.

You might think you love that little life that the Father has entrusted to you, but your actions profess something entirely different.

And yet, this is what prophetic leadership regularly does with false prophets who will spiritually molest you every time they grab a microphone.

And most welcome it because their craving for a “divine connection” is being stroked. In fact, there are people who subscribe to the Elijah List who are willingly subjecting themselves to spiritual molestation on a daily basis.

Why do I think false prophets spiritually molest people?

spiritual defilement

Like sexual molestation, false prophets teach a means of intimacy that was never intended by the Father and, as a result, become perverse and abominable. Those who partake in this kind of “anointing” are the victims that may one day become abominable themselves.

And it’s so sad, because the victim may, at first, truly desire to get closer to the Father, but the cold, hard truth is they’re looking for this intimacy in ways that the Father has not ordained.

Please forgive me, but this next part is going to be rather uncomfortable.

When these violations take place, the victim is approached or taught by someone they consider to be a person of authority (whether a father, a “prophet,” or a teacher – it doesn’t matter).

Victims (especially if they are of age – which I liken to those who have read their Bibles) initially feel like what is happening is very, very wrong . . . that it goes against the very core of their being.

“Don’t be so legalistic!” the authority figure chides, “That’s just religion talking! Yield yourself to the move of the Spirit! God is doing a new thing!”

Through repeated “encounters,” the victims eventually associate “the violation” with “the Father’s love” and, at the encouragement of the abusers, open themselves up for even more abuse and perversion.

And, as sick and twisted as it sounds, they eventually receive pleasure from the violation because, in their minds, they are just “receiving the love of the Father.”

But the truth is, they are handing their mind, body and soul over to forces that completely violate the Word of God and skew their entire perception of the truth.

It is only a matter of time before they start looking for others to molest – they call this act “impartation.”

How can we truly know the Father?

Anyone who hasn’t been completely corrupted with Dispensationalism knows that the Father didn’t want to wait 4,000 years for people to know Him, so He laid it out for them.

Deuteronomy 26:17
Today you have proclaimed the LORD to be your God, and that you will walk in His ways and keep His statutes, His commandments, and His judgments, and that you will obey His voice.

Deuteronomy 28:9
The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways.
Psalm 119:1
Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD!

Even in the New Testament, it says:

1 John 2:4
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

These verses are often quoted, but rarely grasped, so let’s break it down to the most basic level.

If they obey the commands (notice it didn’t say “certain” commands)—They know Him.

If they do NOT obey the commands – They do NOT know Him.

That is your dividing line. That is your standard.

Giftings . . . prophecy . . . wonderful works . . . casting out demons . . . they mean nothing.
(Matthew 7:21-23)

Absolutely nothing.

And this is evidenced by the real fruit of Paul Cain’s ministry.

Sure, he put on a good show. False prophets often do.

Sure, he may have prophesied. False prophets often do.

He may have even been a nice guy (when he wasn’t threatening or a danger to young men). False prophets can be VERY encouraging when it benefits them. (1 Kings 13:11-29, 22:10-12)

Destroyed Lives

But his legacy lives on – a legacy his prophetic buddies like Rick Joyner, Mike Bickle and Jack Deere enabled – in the destroyed lives that he ruined along the way.

And, although I hope and pray otherwise, there’s a pretty good chance that the next generation will be feeling the effects of this betrayal.

Paul Cain’s Last prophecy – “Fear of the Lord”

I want to conclude with a parting thought.

Before writing this series, when I had learned that Paul Cain had passed away, I checked out the Elijah List, knowing that they would definitely have something to say about it.

True to my expectations, Steve Shultz couldn’t wait 24 hours for the body to cool before ensuring that the mindset that monetizes his empire continues.

The February 13th headline read “Paul Cain has gone HOME! But—EXACTLY a Year Ago Today! . . . “ and then in the first paragraph he says that the word was actually given on February 2nd, but the Elijah List had published the article “EXACTLY a year ago” on the 13th.

Sure, it was a minor, almost inconsequential, “clickbait” faux pas to get you to read the article, but it really shows what this whole movement is all about.

In the prophetic movement, there is always a BIG PROMISE on the surface. The goal of this BIG PROMISE is to get you to do what they want you to do, which is to march in lockstep with their ideology and to contribute to their empire.

Once you dig underneath the surface . . . once you dig beneath the lies and deception . . . once you take a step back and start looking at things objectively, you realize that there is something much deeper going that does NOT have your spiritual “best interest” in mind.

All of these little nuances, discrepancies, half-truths and convenient oversights add up to something quite monolithic in nature.

There’s an entire system in place that self-perpetuates through feeding off of your lack of understanding, your unwillingness to look past your own comfort and your unwillingness to use the Scripture as your standard.

And “the devil” is not to blame.

This is YHWH’s hand.

  • In Ahab’s day, YHWH put the lying spirit in the mouth of those who prophesied in His name. (1 Kings 22)
  • In Ezekiel’s day, YHWH answered idolatrous seekers who had set up idols in their heart according to the very idols they worshiped. (Ezekiel 14)

The devil didn’t do it. God did it.

What makes you think He won’t do it again?

This is the system to which Paul Cain belonged, and this is the system that is using his death to further itself.

This is the system that arrogantly states:

Whether or not we agree with the group that restored him (Paul Cain) is irrelevant. He feels he’s been restored.” [12]

But you don’t have to buy into it. You don’t have to be fooled.

Revelation 18:4a
And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins . . . .”

Series: Prophet Paul Cain - The Cover-Up

More to explorer

Paul Cain - the Method

V. Prophet Paul Cain – The Method

Considering all of the evidence of the Paul Cain cover-up, it is easy to see how lies and manipulation of the Word of God play a huge part in fooling the masses. But some of the blame lies in our inability to think for ourselves and look past our own unsustainable doctrine. This “gap” in our reasoning allows for the modern-day prophet to come in and build an empire at the expense of our willful ignorance.

Paul Cain - The MakeOver

IV. Prophet Paul Cain – The Makeover

After confessing to having knowledge of Paul Cain’s predatorial tendencies for the past 15 years, Rick Joyner attempts to salvage Paul’s reputation as a prophet, as well as his own reputation, by appealing to commonly taught misunderstandings of spiritual gifts and spiritual father figures.

Paul Cain - The Monster

III. Prophet Paul Cain – The Monster

While Paul Cain was being passed off as a “fallen hero” to his followers between the years 2004-2019, an entirely different scenario was taking place behind the scenes. It wasn’t until after his death that the truth started to emerge.

  1. Kevin, I remember this passage all too well because I had a similar encounter that I’d love to share sometime but for now I would like to point out some specific wording to which you made reference.
It is in 1 Kings 22:22-23
“…22 And he replied, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all “his” prophets.’ [No capital H as in YHVH’s prophets but Ahab’s prophets!] ‘You will surely entice him and prevail,’ said YHVH. ‘Go and do it.’ 23 So you see, YHVH has put a lying spirit in the mouths of all these “prophets of yours”, and YHVH has pronounced disaster against you.” Michayahu was able to convey that YHVH was allowing Ahab’s prophets to say the words that Ahab wanted to hear whether they were true or not to bring about His plan! [Again, Ahab’s prophets – hired to say what Ahab wanted to hear even though they claimed to be YHVH’s prophets!]
YHVH had to remove Ahab from the picture and He allowed Ahab’s own prophets to lead him into the trap. “Just so happened” …. Uh, no! It didn’t “just so happen” that a random arrow from some random guy hit Ahab in the joint of his armor and kill him!
Even though I have read these verses before and thought I fully understood what it meant, I now realizing that it has a much greater meaning.
Verse 38: They washed the chariot by the pool of Samaria, and the dogs licked up his blood (now the harlots bathed themselves there), according to the word of YHVH which He spoke.” When the word “dog” is used in a negative context in Scripture, many times it means a male homosexual prostitute. Then suddenly I saw the brainwashed masses who run to the paganized churches to lick up the blood (life force) of the false prophets because they are the walking dead, living in abominable sin and getting no correction because it’s isn’t “loving” and to do so would be “judgmental” and “legalistic”!
    I cried my eyes out!
Enjoy your rest, Kevin. You deserve it.
    Shabbat Shalom – Marie Schryver

  2. came across the Faith Movement in 1973 Through Hobart Freeman. One of the things they taught was the Sons of God. You can become so filled with the Godhead bodily that God would completely control you and you would not die physically. I also came a false prophet Tony Leyva. He molested thousands of boys all over the United States. This was uncovered in the 1980s. He was tried and convicted of prostituting boys out to other homosexual preachers. A book was wrote about him by a newspaper reporter. “Tony’s Boys” It is very graphic. It is still available .

    1. Ronald, I met Hobart Freeman. Faith Assembly was in our part of Indiana. I knew some people who lost loved ones through that cult.

  3. thank you for sharing!! this is why I have drawn the line and stay away from ALL of them. and I mean all. there is no discernment anymore.

  4. Kevin, I can’t stress enough how important your research & personal experiences you’re sharing is to all of us. After reading this & being highly irritated, two thoughts came to mind. The first is in reference to Bailey’s statement. “Christianity will not be superseded. It will be transcended, its work of preparation being triumphantly accomplished, and Christ will again give us the next revelation of divinity . Can there not be revelations of God utterly unprecedented, and for which we have no words or adequate means of expression? The ancient mysteries, so shortly to be restored, must be re-interpreted in the light of Christianity, and readapted to meet modern need.” That is exactly what is going on. Ancient mysteries that go all the way back to Babylon & Egypt. She told us this is their goal & it’s working. We that are subscribers to your emails/website now know the truth & are armed to expose this nonsense. It’s so deviant & dark. My gosh, the deception is so thick. My second thought is, I’m certain those of us that now know the truth are to take that knowledge & do something with it. Don’t know how many subscribers you have but I’m thinking there’s more of them than there are of us. It’s a responsibility we shouldn’t take lightly or ignore. Jesus told us repeatedly about the Last Days False Prophets/Messiahs. We should never look to a man or woman for words. God made it so simple. Everything we need is in the Bible. Kevin, thank you. Your work is appreciated.

  5. Whether it be mainline churches, charismatic movement, prophetic movement it is but to keep the sheep 🐑in the sheepfold where they can be used to increase the LOVE OF SELF AND 💰for the leaders 👺

  6. The whole “Prophetic Movement can be described in one phrase ” The Emperor has no clothes”. Naked with ambition and a thirst for power ( which is basically what witchcraft is), yet they are actually poor and wretched. Everyone oos and awes at the beautiful garments, because no one wants to look stupid, no one wants to seem ignorant of “the deep things” . Exactly like Jesus wrote to the church in Laodecia in Revelation 3:17 “… you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire,so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see…20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
Everyone uses this as a verse for salvation, when in reality Jesus is OUTSIDE the door of a CHURCH, and they dont even miss Him.
Of course the movement was fascinating and intriguing, else how would we be enticed?
I attended a few conferences and read books but always in the back of my spirit was that feeling that things were “off”. Like the Gnostics they are, there always seemed like something covert going on. Some secret ” insider” knowledge… Like kids chanting “I know something you dont know…”
I was given a tape of Bob Jones but told not to
” share this with just anyone, it’s so special that most people wouldnt understand”. I did listen but all I heard was mystical rambling nothingness. Not even creepy just pathetic like the proverbial “dirty old man” he turned out to be.
I heard Mike Bickle preach once. Boring, dry and dead as dust. I kept thinking this cant be THE Mike Bickle! !, and Rick Joyner and John Paul Jackson were just arrogant. I heard clips of the so called Toronto blessing with all the screaming and falling and animal noises ( theres a clue !) It would have been laughable had it not been so sinister. As for Todd Bently and his violence, enoungh said. That this was called the spirit of Jesus was an abomination.
I always hated how I felt in those meetings. Intimidated, unnerved, almost panicked, which is exactly how a religious spirit makes you feel. For all their talk about discernment there is none here. This spirit hates to be challenged and if you ever call it out, all hell will literally break out around you.
The last straw for me was when Stacey Cambell and crew came through my small home city in Western Canada . It started with the worship. The young woman leading started breathing what she called “The wind of the spirit and what my husband and I decided,in unspoken looks, sounded more like an orgasm.
Then Stacey Campbell took the stage. I knew nothing about her. The sermon, to say the least was forgettable and underwhelming until
she started “prophesying”. Her “unique” delivery left me stunned. Her head moved back and forth so fast and constant that her face was a blur. My conversation with God at that moment was ” Obviously I have three choices here. The flesh, The Lord, or the devil…#1)If I tried to move my head that fast and continuously it would be physically impossible to sustain. #2) this does NOT feel like You Jesus, which only leaves me with the #3…. While I was mulling this over an outspoken friend who had come with me turned and said..” the last time I saw that Linda Blair was vomiting pea soup” ( a reference to The Exorcist). She made me laugh, but I had my answer. There was such a sexual tension in the air that night that we left early. My feeling was the whole crowd was just a hairbredth away from crossing a line into an all out Bacchanalia.
Some time later I was reading about King David, basically dancing naked before The Lord. The author went on to say that God accepted that because David above all things revered the Lord, and that ” worship without reverence is pornography” . Bingo.
None of this should be surprising. Cults, (and this is one) , when allowed to continue, have always ended in sexual immorality and violence
( Todd Bentley case in point) because Satan wants to be worshipped and perversion ( literally a twisting) is how he is worshipped. Worshipped by twisting The Truth and the Goodness of God.

And now have sown the wind and reaped the whirlwind. There is little discernment within the Body of Christ in general and none in the Third Wave. Now, a generation later the entire movement has shifted its focus to political ambitions and the political arena insisting that God would have us “take over the world for Him before His return”. I weep. The deception is almost complete.

PS as an interesting confirmation, my daily , random Bible reading just popped ….Duetoronomy 13
“If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 2 and the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ 3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God is testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him. ”
    So be it.

  7. Kevin, thank you for sharing your spiritual insight for a warning for all of us to heed.

Paul wrote: “1 Brothers [and sisters], be imitators together of me, and note those who walk this way, even as you have us for an example. 18 For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, as the enemies of the cross of Messiah, 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is the belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who think about earthly things. 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also wait for a Savior, the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, 21 who will change the body of our humiliation to be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working by which he is able even to subject all things to himself. 8. I liked this installment Kevin. Our congregation had a teaching about Dinah and her rape. The teaching was relating this account with current day teachers and pastors that spiritually do this to their congregation by introducing a mixture that is defiled.

I also really enjoyed reading everyone’s comments. Thank you to all who contributed.

  9. Kevin, Torah is plain on the sin of sodomy and child molestation… when did Yahuah change? I think you are right on in pointing out not only the poor handling of this whole episode but the systematic degradation of holiness in those who would be called believers in Hamashiach with a charismatic bent. I am shocked that Bob Jones did what he did but then I never listened to these ear tickling soothesayers anyway.

  10. Thanks so much for this series! I had started to question this whole ‘charismatic’ movement when I saw the gold dust videos in ’99 – but always felt I needed to ‘grow’ more or have more faith…but finally came out b/c of a ‘catch the fire’ conference with bill johnson, randy clark, and john arnott with the double whammy of the todd bentley/lakeland fiasco a month later….it’s been over 10 yrs and articles like these are like fresh air! Thank you!

  11. It’s amazing how these very profiting prophets can control so many others, even into immorality and cover ups. With their great imaginations and wealth, they create a storyline that nourishes the hope that Yah has designed into our beings. Though they proclaim to be the prophetic voice for end times, the truth is that they are pathetic in real time. Perhaps they should focus on what prophesy says about the here and now and do a really good reality check on their position of speaking for Yah. Some would certainly think they have sold their souls for this present comfortable and lofty position of authority and respect; those would most likely be the true prophets of Yah that think such things.

Great work, Kevin, to remove some of their ‘mulch’. You did it with fairness, even with class, knowing well how vicious these organizations are, have been and prophetically will be, behind the scenes.

  12. Kevin. I cannot possibly in one comment section express what I’m experiencing right now! I first read your ‘Elijah List,’ story several months ago from an old post I saw on line. I emailed you to tell you what I telling you now.
I just replied to a comment from Sally, sent back in April. I told my story there. I tell it again. Last year I sent an email to Elijah List re: concerns I had about them interviewing Paul Young re: his book ‘The Shack.’ I asked them to please explain why they were doing this, considering the book was a new age front, myself having read numerous warnings from ex-new agers who saw right thro’ the front.
They never responded, so I sent another email, requesting a response or I would cancel my subscription. They never did , so I canceled.
I have been on a ‘spiritual detox,’ specifically ‘prophetic detox,’ for about a year now. I started a blog a few months ago, and cover much of the ame stuff you do. I was so excited to find your blog today. I covered IHOP a few weeks ago, and just read this blog today. You have valuable information here that I can use to add to that blog. It seems we are on the same path Kevin!
I have been researching Bob Jones, John Paul Jackson, Paul Cain, Mike Bickle, and just the last two days, Shawn Boltz. I would so look forward to communicating with you.
I am getting some flack from friends, in posting about IHOP, because it is the ‘darling’ of the prophetic ministry. I did research on the influence of the Moravians on IHOP and the actual perversions that set in re: ‘bridal mysticism.’
Finding your site today, I believe is a ‘God send.’Praise the Lord! Another detoxing friend to confide in and share truth with, and expose the hidden works of darkness together! Blessings. Hope to hear back from you Kevin.
P.S. I have been asking the Lord lately how could the ‘prophetic movement have such a serious lack of discernment?!
