I have just finished reading a great article by J. Lee Grady that I encourage all of you to read.
In the article, Mr. Grady poses some serious questions about the Zachery Tims situation that need to be addressed:
There are so many aspects of this story that should cause us to lament. How did a preacher get involved with a stripper? Why didn’t Tims put himself on the bench for at least a year after his sin was exposed? Why did Christian television keep him on the air after his affair became public? Why did his church continue to attract crowds when people knew Tim’s behavior did not match the biblical standards of morality required for church leaders?”
Over the past few years, God has been asking me with increasing intensity . . . “Is your heart TRULY Mine? Are you seeking my Kingdom FIRST above all other pursuits? Do you worship at my Altar or the altar of the world?”
Where Do You Stand? . . . Be Honest!
We have entered a very dangerous time. Standing on the fence, messing around with blatant, obvious sin will no longer be “winked at” by our Coming King. Confessing “I am the righteousness of Christ Jesus! I’m blessed and highly favored!” when our lives are tainted with the deeds of uncrucified flesh will not save us from God’s Justice, especially when you influence other people.
I Peter 4:17
For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God.
Those words couldn’t be any truer than they are today. You’re going to see God exposing people for who they are in increasing measure. It’s not because He’s a mean or impatient God, looking to destroy people, it’s because He’s answering our prayers!
Take the Lakeland Revival for an example. One of the great catchphrases in the prophetic community is “Lord, we want a visitation . . . we want a habitation!” And God really does inhabit our praises!
But what happens when God inhabits our praises?
Light vs. Darkness
Think about this . . . God is Light, He is THE Light. What does light do to darkness? It dispels it and reveals what’s been covered BY that darkness.
So God answered the request of the Lakeland Revival attendees and came down to inhabit and enthrone Himself on the praises of His people. His Light came down and, in a VERY short time, exposed the sin that was covered in Darkness . . . starting with the Leadership.
That’s what happens when God comes down to visit His people. Sin is exposed.
What Must We Do?
It’s really quite simple . . . we need to repent . . . I need to repent. If we are truly saved, we cry from our inmost being “LORD, LET YOUR KINGDOM COME! VISIT YOUR PEOPLE, OH GOD!”, and it’s GOOD to do that! But when God comes down and answers our prayer, we find that our leaders and, by extension, WE are not able to stand in His Holiness. We are so caught up in this world’s system (Babylon) that we are completely undone, laid bare and exposed.
Here is the Truth of the matter regarding Zachary Tims. The Church is more in love with money and fame than they are with Jesus! There would be too much money to be lost if they took Zachary off the air. Also, the Church is more in love with money and fame than they are in love with His Word! Tons of people poured into the services of a known adulterer . . . I mean, who cares about integrity, right? As long as the slick speakers pour a lying salve on the festering sores that today’s churchgoers call their “freedoms”, they don’t mind being robbed of their money and their ability to think for themselves.
If you call yourself a “Child of the King” . . . GOOD NEWS, not only is He going to inhabit your praises, He’s coming back soon! Let us prepare our lives in such a way that when He visits and when He returns, He will find His Bride spotless and without blemish!
The alternative is not so pretty.Kevin Kleint
