I’m currently in great fear for people who call themselves “brothers and sisters in the Lord” who willfully transgress the most basic of commandments because they think “it’s all about what’s in your heart.”
I want to tell you something. Your love for God is not based on your “good intentions”, “goodwill” or “warm feelings” toward God. Your love for God is based on your obedience to His Commands (1 John 5:3).
I’m not trying to say that I know who will “make it” and who will not — that’s not my call. But the bible lays out some pretty rigid guidelines.
Those who have taken up their cross to follow Him will live as He lived. And He lived according to God’s commands in the Old Testament …
God’s commands never changed, just like He never changes.
“For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on [the testimony of] two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord. And again, ‘The LORD will judge His people.’ It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”
Those who know me know that I may be an impatient man, but I’m not an arrogant man. What I say above is not out of any sense of pride or a “know-it-all” attitude. I have a genuine love and concern for people who are acting like lemmings, who never question what they were taught and refuse to study the Word for themselves.
I hate watching misinformed people follow equally misinformed leaders straight off a cliff.
PLEASE consider this!
The children, by grace and grace alone, were taken out of Egypt, crossed the Red Sea and given God’s Law to learn how to live like priests and kings unto the Most High.
But an entire generation died in the wilderness because they did NOT obey those very same Laws.
Our God never changes.
Seek Him while He may be found.Kevin Kleint
