Ever since I wrote my "Working for the Elijah List" testimony, people have asked me "Where are the Real Prophets?" Quite honestly, up until the last couple years, I didn’t have a clue! I just knew who they were NOT! Well, I’m happy to say that I’ve found them… they are alive and well and they are NOT on TBN!
Because false prophets like Bill Johnson, Graham Cooke, Rick Joyner and Kris Vallotton seem to be spiritual and have a knowledge of the Word of God, seekers of truth have a very hard time seeing them as wolves. I frequently receive emails from people asking me what I think about these guys and others like them. This series is my answer to those questions.
Almost immediately after the news of Kim Clement’s death hit Charisma magazine and Facebook, I started getting email from people, wanting to know my take on the situation.
Have you ever sat and listened silently to a prophet or prophetess expound upon what seemed to be the latest of an endless series of dreams or visions? Were you tempted to question the veracity of their encounter(s), only to be silenced by echoes of “touch not God’s anointed” coursing through your mind? Believe me, I have. Let me tell you what God’s Word has to say about false prophets and their dreams and visions.
Due to centuries of man-made doctrine and church’s propensity for hyper-spiritualization, the definition of a “circumcised heart” has lost much of it’s meaning. Because of this error, our perception is so skewed that there are those who believe they are walking with a circumcised heart when they are actually living according to their own rules and standards.
Even the most “die-hard” christian will believe this fallacy. There are many who read their Bibles every day, go to church on Sunday, never cuss, never drink, stay away from rated “R” movies, fast, pray and pursue Jesus in every way they know how, but according to the Word, their hearts are still not circumcised.
If these people aren’t living holy (“set apart”) lives for YHWH, what hope do the rest of us have?
