For the record: Ahmadinejad is a psychopath who deserves hell (we all do). He is not to be trusted and I just don’t like him. Nevertheless, something inside me (I believe it was the Holy Spirit) inspired me to dig further. When I actually read the unedited text of his address to the UN, I found that much of what he said about “the West” and our values was actually true!
One does not need to wear a special lens to see that most of the Western world (including the church) are a covetous people. We live for the next purchase. Such a life motivation stands in direct opposition to what our Messiah taught. Let’s take a closer look at what the Word of God says about covetousness. It’s more than just lusting after the possessions of your neighbor, it can become an identity!
