Prophetic Half-Truth and Our Coming King

propheticI just read the article “The Prophetic Gifts: How Do They Work in Us?” from Rick Joyner on the Elijah List today, and it really bothered me. Not because it was untrue, but because it ignored the true need of those who will read it. What bothered me was that the audience that will read the article will come away from it wanting to prophesy more, but will still be unaware of the depths to which the “prophetic movement” has plummeted.

Rick, how about the obedience factor? Do you know that obedience is not a value in the prophetic movement? Holiness teaching is tolerated (as long as it’s not too “legalistic”), but not adhered to. Do you think God will call a disobedient prophet His friend? What about separation from the world?

The current church (and especially the prophetic movement) is so identical to the world in their look, their values and their personality that there IS NO DIFFERENCE.

Do you think God is going to tell His “secret things” to the unsanctified? Do you know that they are offended by the Word of God? A prophet rejoices at the Word of God, no matter how uncomfortable it gets to their flesh. Most of the youth in our churches (“prophetic” or otherwise) are offended when you bring up the Word of God, and the adults are the same way. Oh, they love “God is love” and the other scriptures that talk about how God wants to do stuff for us, but when you mention anything about obedience or holiness, they become very guarded — some even go to the extent of calling you “legalistic” or “religious”. The last time I read the Word, Jesus never gave us a choice to pick and choose scripture to satisfy our flesh.

propheticThe majority of the people in today’s “prophetic movement” are so confused and deceived, and it is because of these kinds of misleading articles that the Elijah List (and ministries/businesses like them) distribute to their 130,000 strong subscribers. They present the “Jesus is your buddy” philosophy, which is only a partial truth. He is returning as the Coming King for a Bride that has MADE HERSELF ready. Rick is speaking to the misled masses who are blindly following the groupthink of the “cutting edge” church.

I’m asking you, “Where are the prophets who will bow their lives TODAY before our Coming King?”

  1. looks like you still need a job…dragging up anything you can against plenty of good Christians is not from Christ. Sure, there are imperfections and things to use discernment on, but your ‘heavy attack mode’ style smells of a hater who needs to learn how to speak the truth in love. find another job.

    • And the “hate” would be where? Oh I get it … you like to have your ears scratched … If you want a message like that, the Elijah List is looking for subscribers. Have fun with that …. btw: this post is over 2 years old.

  2. Good word. Say it loud and often.
