I think I’m going to write this in a post, just one more time, and then refer people to it whenever I get accusations that I am holding a grudge against Steve Shultz and the Elijah List.
For the record:
I do not hold a grudge against Steve Shultz and the Elijah List.
In my 20′s, I used to write constantly. Blogging was pretty much non-existant in the 90s (to my knowledge), but I kept a pretty full journal. Soon after I started working for the Elijah List, I literally “froze up” (from a writing standpoint). My understanding of the scriptures was in a fog and I could not “put pen to paper” to save my life.
I believe it was God who allowed this to happen.
After I quit the Elijah List, it took 3 full years of healing of occur before God re-introduced my ability to write. It was actually quite miraculous. I believe that I reached a point where I put the bitterness and unforgiveness behind me. Once that happened, I sat down and wrote out the “My 7 Years Working for the Elijah List” series in a total of about 5 or 6 hours.
It just poured out of me.
What People Are Saying
The responses that I’ve receive usually fall into 2 categories:
- From the “Discernment” types: They applaud my “bravery” and feel that I should have exposed more of what went on at the Elijah List. In fact, I got a couple emails accusing me of siding WITH them because I wouldn’t EXPOSE them more. Although I could have done so, I felt that I should exercise restraint and just stick with my personal experience. My Life in Christ consists of much more than just exposing error and, believe it or not, I would rather spend time discovering the things that draw me closer to Him.
- From the “Prophetic” types: They feel that I was too harsh and judgmental. To these types, I should have made every effort to just “show the ‘Love of God”, even at the expense of the Truth. Basically, when it comes down to it, they are telling me “don’t challenge what makes me feel good”. What they don’t realize is the Love of God NEVER makes people feel good at the expense of His Truth.
I Love These People
You see, I genuinely love Steve Shultz and the people in the prophetic movement, but when deception is occurring, I cannot stay silent. If my writing comes off as sarcastic or hateful to anyone, it’s usually those who are neck-deep in this deception.
My Goal
The “Goal” of writing these types of posts is to push you, the reader, to DECIDE. I do this by showing you what the bible says and then compare it to what is going on in the prophetic movement. And, no … it is NOT in agreement.
My question to you is: “Will you follow the Word of God? Or will you follow what you are TOLD by those whom MAN has put in authority?”
The error of this movement begins with their basic definition of “prophecy”. This is the “Seed” of this deception. Prophecy was not meant to be “encouraging” in the sense that it is supposed to make your flesh feel good. Prophecy was meant to “encourage” and “exhort” you to repent and return to God! This definition is consistent THROUGHOUT Scripture, the Old Testament and the New Testament.

From this defiled seed, you have a defiled tree …. and it’s defiled fruit is painfully evident. One need look no further than John Crowder, Todd Bentley and the other “offspring” of this movement to see this.
In Closing
So let me say it one more time: I do not hold a grudge against Steve Shultz and the Elijah List. Nor am I trying to put Elijah List out of business. In fact, as long as people love to have their flesh stroked, I know that the Elijah List will remain a viable “ministry”/business entity.
At the same time, as long as the Elijah List (and other “prophetic” ministries) continue to put out deceptive and unscriptural “prophecies”, I will continue to address these errors (as I have time – there are just so many).
What I would rather have happen is that Steve (and the other “prophets”) repent of leading this generation astray, re-think their entire definition of “prophecy” and what it means to be a prophet of God, and walk in unity with the Word of God.
Believe me, nothing would make me happier than to see this happen.

Thank you for your post and the wisdom that is in it .
Two things came to mind as I read it. One, where Thomas Jefferson said, “God is just, but His justice cannot sleep forever.” And another when John Paul Jackson said, “God is merciful until He has extended all the mercy He is going to extend; and then judgment comes.” The first I saw in a documentary this weekend and the second I heard while doing an internship or classes at Streams a few years ago.
Not speaking specifically about any organization or individuals but I do know that this seperation process is beginning to take place and that we will begin to see much evidence of this truth…I also know that it was not the Lords’ choice that it be that way, but the desires of the flesh of man that will necessitate this process.
Those times and seasons are indeed out of our hands unless and until He says otherwise; yet in every thing He is saying, He is saying, “It is time.”

He is Releasing HIS Horses
My name is Wade Jones. I am one of the Apostolic and Prophetic people God had seperated years ago from many of the charismatic and prophetic circles that “were” on the cutting edge of what was taking place at the time in the prophetic-history-cirles. One of the people that He specifically asked to say no to the “golden boy” opportunities, the platforms, the limelight and the relationships wherebye man could and would have exalted me into a place where many of these we speak about have been for a number of years; And still “appear to be today,” at least with a natural eye and a carnal understanding… Most of these made camps of support for each others platforms. They have shared provision in many cases and in may ways have shared the, “I will promote you if you will promote me methods,” regardless of what the message or the ministry was and regardless of wether the Lord or their own flesh nature may have been the source of it. Platforms have been shared and protected as would a bluejay gaurding her nest of young. If you did not walk, talk, sing and look like one of them, if you did not agree with all of their ways plans and methods, even at the expense of disagreeing with God or His true words, then you would most likely not be allowed in the nest or given any place to be heard or considered. I suppose that if your wisdom and understand was higher than their own, as some certainly is, then the chances of this taking place were probably slim to none… Some, not unlike myself, have been reqired to shut out all other voices over the last several years. Quiet simply, the Lord told me He did not want any of these outside influences affecting the purity of what He was saying to me nor to affect my ability to hear Him clearly; And this I did… During this time and season in my walk and relationship with the Lord, He has given much and He has said much;And He has required that much of the revelation He was giving be held very tightly until He says it is time. And I am happy to say that He is saying now, “Now it is time.” Now is the time when He will begin to release the true prohetic voices from the first fruits Prophets and Apostles as even this last week He said, and I quote, “I AM RELEASING MY HORSES. I AM GIVING THEM REIN” and some 1000 words later He continued with some words for what He has sometimes referred to as “the former-forerunners.”
“And you will see men; Well-rehearsed, well dressed, and well respected…Even in My eyes and yours, in the past; You will see panic on their faces and panic on their hearts, when they come to the realization that , ‘I’m not it, I’m no longer it.’ When they come to the realization that, ‘I really know, and I really knew within my heart, even though I was not willing to speak it, that I was aware that I was unwilling to change as the Master was asking me to change and grow, that I might come along and be included and remain on the cutting-edge and at the forefront of what He is doing…” “You will see this My Sons. You will see this My friends…And take no joy in it…For this too must happen, Thus sayeth the Lord.”
Many of these men and organizations are very well aware that this time has been and “now is” happening.You will see many of those who once were at the forefront do whatever they can to protect “their” platforms at any costs and by any means of deception, as they have already been doing, because that is exactly what they have become,” their platforms” and not the Lords…
Those who God has chosen and equipped to be His end time Kingdom Government have been aware of this for some time and there is a clear and precise and accurate voice that is about to be heard; A voice that has little or nothing to do with the opinions or preference of man, the true voice of God.
“MY voice will be heard,” He said… So what is it, that some have we been listening to lately??? And what
is it, that has inspired some to speak, as though it were the Lord???
And as has happened on a numerous occassions, I received these words as a cloud or should I say a crowd of witnesses looked on. They have been appearing for well over a year now and I refer to them as
‘His Kingdom Elders.” Be very aware that not only do these elders exist in heaven, but that the Lord also has elders that He has chosen and prepared on the backside of the desert, who have been walking the earth for some time, voices that He is now releasing; Men that almost no one knows. Men who are indeed presently alive and waliking the earth today which He calls his “Kingdom Elders”…I give you the Lords’ word and my own,these men are now to be revealed. And they will bring a fresh and very powerful word from the realms of heaven which they have been prepared in and for… As God and others are indeed my witness… Wade Jones, Sichuan Province, China.

Thanks for letting me know. I am looking forward to the new things that the Lord is about to do as I believe He is about to take control of all that is His. I am thankful that I have had the grace not to have bowed out of that process so far, as have so many. I pray we can continue to align our actions and our hearts with the profession of our mouths. It has always been an

What I am learning out of the present “prophetic drift” is comparable to the story in Matthew 13:24-30
Then Jesus used another story to teach them. Jesus said, “The kingdom of heaven is like a man that planted good seed in his field. That night, all the people were asleep. The man’s enemy came and planted weeds among the wheat. Then the enemy went away. Later, the wheat grew and heads of grain grew on the wheat plants. But at the same time the weeds also grew. Then the man’s servants came to him and said, ‘You planted good seed in your field. Where did the weeds come from?’ The man answered, ‘An enemy planted weeds.’ The servants asked, ‘Do you want us to go pull the weeds?’ The man answered, ‘No, because when you pull up the weeds, you might also pull up the wheat. Let the weeds and the wheat grow together until the harvest time. At the harvest time I will tell the workers this: First gather the weeds and tie them together to be burned. Then gather the wheat and bring it to my barn.’”
Just like the servants who were probably frustrated and wanted to pull out the weeds (I am sure out of loyalty and devotion to their master), had to comply to the wish of their master to let both weeds and wheat grow till harvest time–It keeps dawning on me that care must be made to hear the Lord’s instruction on any move we make.
Otherwise, it is very easy to get stuck in indignation and start to tear down everything regardless.
Weeds or wheat? We can’t suceed in sepetating them, not until harvest.
Kevin, no one can accuse you of being unscriptural, so focus not on “hurt feelings” or “accusing fingers” and stick to His instructions.

I agree Ariane. I just get tired of writing the same thing over-and-over again (usually to offended people in email), so I wrote something out and thought …. “Hmmmm, this would make a good post!”. So, from now on, when I get emails from people who are upset, I’m just gonna send them to this link, hehe.

I abhor the elijah list and it’s directors and find them foul and spiritually perverse. According to the Word, Yahweh feels the same way, and I keep his Good company- offering no apologies for my feelings or the company I keep. Torments called down on this earth and may the wrath of Yahweh abide upon on all who do not believe and obey his Son , including the elijah list , like it or not.

I wish you had been out there blowing this trumpet while I was in the midst of it all. Maybe, just maybe, I would have listened. And so many years would not have been lost. And our family wouldn’t have gone through, or put others through, hell on earth. I don’t sense that you hold a grudge, you just now hold the lamp. And you are holding that lamp high.
