Earlier this year, I mentioned in one of my posts that I wanted to get past talking about my experiences with the Elijah List and the Prophetic Movement. I have recently come to the realization that this is not God’s plan for me …. at least in this phase of my life.
There are a couple reasons why I say this:
- I continue to receive many emails from people who are either (a) suspicious that this kind of deception is infiltrating their church or (b) coming out of the deception, and thankful that someone is finally saying something.
- As long as the superstars of the Prophetic Movement continue to provide such ample material for commentary and correction in their teachings and “prophecy”, I feel compelled to hold it up to the Word of God and the Spirit of Truth.
No Smear Here
I’ve occasionally been accused of wanting to smear the Elijah List’s (as well as some of the other ministry’s) reputation(s), nothing could be further from the Truth. In fact, to attempt to do so would be a futile and foolish task. The Prophetic Movement (and their associated ministries) will ALWAYS have their adherants until the time that Jesus returns. They may not congregate under the same brand (who knows what the new “movement’s” name will be?), but there will always be a large number of people who will flock to soft and crossless teaching, because it feels good to their flesh.
These same people, when you place their teaching and prophecy in the light of the Word of God and show them their error, will STILL cling tightly to their idols. It makes absolutely NO difference to them.
Would you like to test it out?
In November 2011, Kim Clement prophesied the fall of “two massive” leaders by the Christmas season. Kim believed it was the leaders of Syria and Iran, but it doesn’t matter, the two massive leaders didn’t fall. Held up to the light of scripture, this was a false prophecy, making Kim Clement a false prophet.
Deuteronomy 18:21-22 “And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?’– when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that [is] the thing which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.”
Now, take this proof and show it to your “prophetic” friends. We have a direct quote and we have a prophesied timeframe. Show this to your friends. What did they say? I hope I’m wrong, but chances are, it didn’t make a difference. If it DID make a difference, feel free to let us know by commenting below …. I WILL REJOICE WITH YOU.
Many people, especially those who support Kim’s ministry, will say that, because he is human, I need to be merciful to him, and I certainly do NOT hate Kim Clement. I’m just as fallible as he is, in fact, I am probably MORE fallible … but I have no scriptural obligation to listen to the guy, he speaks presumptuously and says he hears from God.
But the Word would say otherwise.
What’s my point? My point is we are SO CLOSE to His Return and, like it or not, I’m going to continue to expose the error that the enemy is using to deceive those who are perishing. When I see those, who are coming into the church to escape darkness, fall into a yet greater darkness (false truth, false grace and false love), I can’t just stay quiet, and I can’t afford to care what people will think.
I just wanted to be a teacher of the Word and stay “under the radar”, but it looks like that’s not going to happen.
Happy 2012!

I am a widow. One of my daughters and I received the “List” and for a time printed it off. We both left “The List” years ago. God is Faithful. We both prayed that the Lord would deliver us from everything that is not “the Truth”,
It is great to have your website to point others to so that they may also latch on to the “Truth” Facts can not reasonably be argued with.
Thank you so much for your work in revealing the Truth about false prophecy that has invaded many lives and churches. It is a cunning snare.
I have to say this for one, I do not endorse Kim Clement. However I am grieved at how many who proclaim to know Christ do not really know Him in the sense of relationship, and what we see in the Bible. We see dreams, visions, encounters, and also trances through relationship with Christ Jesus in the word of God. I can list several men with these experiences in the Bible and yet we deny that Christ is the same today as He was yesterday, and yet reject how He moves, and we put the Holy Spirit in a box and label it Christianity. Prophets of old spoke prophesies that never came to pass in their life time should we call them false prophets? Jesus was prophesied about and yet He did not come till they all were in the ground. God is Sovereign and moves in the way He desires to move. Who are we to say what is false and what is true? Who are we to say God can only move this way or that way? We see through a glass dimly the word states. Who are we to say that ALL Charismatic’s are only after signs and wonders/manifestations rather then God? Wow what grieves me is human reasoning of who and what the Lord is and His word turned into a man made God rather then a sovereign one. I think many are deceived in this hour and who to those who truly do not walk in relationship with the almighty King. It is through relationship will we truly know the mystery of His word and the truth that sets us free. Blessings
I totally agree with you that God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He worked with visions, signs, prophecy, miracles etc then … and He does the same now.
Your idea of God’s Sovereignty may be a little “off” though. Psalms 138:2 says “For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.” God Himself placed His Word ABOVE His Name. So, although He is most definitely a Sovereign God, He stays within the guidelines of His Word. If He went outside His Word, He would be a liar …. and He is definitely not a liar.
I also agree w/you that legitimate prophets have prophesied things that have not come to pass in their lifetime. The Word says (Matt 7) that you will know a false prophet by their FRUIT … and the Fruit of these ministries (not just Kim’s) is pretty much bad (with few exceptions). I know intimately (and distantly) people who go to these prophetic schools and follow these ministries. They are theologically unstable (at best – some outright blasphemous), they rely on the signs and wonders MORE than the Word of God. Which is a worse form of idolatry than idolizing God’s Word (if that’s even possible – David said “I praise your Word” many times …)
Anyhow, I hope this sheds some light as to where I stand. Judging from the fruit of these ministries, and the terrible track record leads me to believe that I’m pretty safe in my assumption that these people are false.
Many blessings,
Kevin
Hello and Blessings.I was saying that He is Sovereign in the sense that He is God and we are not. We see Him move in the Bible in ways that were unpredictable. Such as it says, ” In , Isaiah 55 8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD 9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
The above statement is He is God and we are not.
I do not disagree about the prophetic movement. I too have been in ministry and walked away from alot of that stuff that is going on as my heart and eyes have been opened up to His truth.
Take care brother keep spreading the truth in Christ.
You too! And Welcome!
May i say Kevin how much i enjoy Honourofkings, regarding exposing error & heresy isay this for what it”s worth hersey that is taught publicly, must be opposed publicly .
Matthew ch 18 v 15–17.in obedience to Christ we are obliged to pursue privately with individuals who make false statements or charges &must be scriptualy accountable.
I remain your brother in Christ maurice.
